Summary of Position

This is a part time position within The Rinks Marketing Department.  The Rinks Street Team consists of an energetic team of individuals who are enthusiastic, passionate about the sport of hockey, and skating.  The Street Team will be responsible for support, implementation, promotion and support of various youth and adult hockey and skating programs including but not exclusive to; ice hockey, inline hockey, street hockey, ice skating and community focused events.  Street Team Members should be enthusiastic, outgoing, have a strong work ethic and have the ability to work well with others while positively representing the Rinks, Great Park Ice and the Anaheim Ducks Hockey Club as ambassadors within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Implementation of the Anaheim Ducks Learn to Play & Little Ducks Programs.  Introducing youth and adult participants to the fundamentals of hockey and skating both ice and inline rinks.  Street Team members will assist with check in, gear distribution and on rink instruction.

  • Implementation and instruction of the Anaheim Ducks Top Flight Street Hockey League for participants with special needs. Teaching participants fundamentals of hockey in a safe environment, providing direction and positive reinforcement.

  • Assist with on-rink instruction for various other hockey and skating programs including; Hockey is For Everyone Events, Try Hockey and Try Skating Events, Street Hockey, Adult Development Program, Summer Camps and Homeschool Programming. 

  • Assist with preparations, support and promotion of community relations events hosted at the Rinks including but not limited to; Give Blood Play Hockey, Casey’s Cup, Fedorin Cup, and other Community Relations Skating Events.

  • Assist with various community based events designed to promote The Rinks, Great Park Ice and Anaheim Ducks.  Street Team will be responsible for set up, promotion and tear down of booths, tables and other marketing related onsite assets.

  • Assist in managing and maintaining the quality of interactive marketing elements including street hockey inflatables, and booth set ups.

  • Drive The Rinks “Promotional Vehicles” to and from events.  Make sure vehicles are fully stocked with necessary items for event and unloaded at the conclusion of the event, ensuring the vehicles are kept clean at all times.

  • Assist with other tasks on an as needed basis.

Skills

  • Minimum 18 years of age

  • Passionate about the sport of hockey, skating and the Anaheim Ducks

Summary of Position

The Rinks develops hockey programs within our local area and beyond.  Our program’s success begins with providing our guests with a great experience at our facilities while providing a consistent product at all our facilities. 

Hockey Instructors are instrumental staff responsible upholding our Rinks standards while making the guests experience a great one.  Hockey Instructors should be dynamic and keep players engaged, organized, safe and ensure that the players have fun.

Hockey Instructors, Level 1 are responsible for assisting on & off the ice and teaching at skill development stations for all Hockey Development programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Learn to Play Hockey programming on and off-ice activities, including check-in, assisting players with gear, rink supplies set up and other assigned duties.

  • Assist Hockey Initiation programs including teaching skill development stations

  • Assist skill development for all assigned rinks programs including rec-league clinics and practices-support all rinks hockey programs.

  • Be a positive ambassador for the sport of hockey & The Rinks.

  • Hockey Coaches/Instructors are responsible to assist at Hockey Initiation, Ducks Learn to Play Hockey, Score a Goal, Little Ducks, Hockey Camps and coach Rink teams as assigned.

  • Hockey Instructors should be at the Rink at least 30 minutes before scheduled sessions and be ready to go onto the ice 15 minutes before players take the ice.

  • Meet with Head Hockey Coach/ Instructor prior to scheduled sessions to review on ice plan.

  • Interact with players and parents prior to taking the ice, be friendly.

  • Assist with ice set up, pucks, nets etc.

  • Stop and teach – set a standard for development by using positive reinforcement when coaching.

  • Be present and interact with all participants - make it fun!

  • Stay with your assigned skill station and keep the group organized.

  • Be familiar with Rinks  “Next Steps” Programs.

  • Make sure all interactions with players are fun and productive.

  • Attend monthly Rinks “Power Play” team building sessions.

Skills

  • Must have 3 years of hockey experience.

  • Ability to demonstrate on ice hockey skills.

  • Meet all USA Hockey, CAHA screening requirements and hold a Level 1 or 2 USA Hockey coaching credential.

Summary of Position

Summary of Position

This position is responsible for the implementation and management of hockey programming in a manner supportive of The Rinks and Great Park Ice culture and CommUNITY.   This position oversees all hockey staff including hockey coordinators, and coaches within facility.

Responsibilities

Program Administration

  • Organize and promote youth and adult hockey programs. This position will initially be based at Great Park Ice overseeing Adult & Youth Leagues, Hockey Initiations and Learn to Play Hockey (the Hockey Manager may be required to work at other rink locations to meet business needs).

  •  Oversee/Manage program registration process and administration of all in-house game schedules.  Ensure these schedules coincide with the facility master ice schedule. 

  • Lead the Hockey Initiation program.  Assume primary responsibility for class scheduling, curriculum, and instructional coverage. 

  • On-Ice:

    • Hockey Initiation programs:  Responsible for preparing and implementing practice plan for each session, communicating plan to support coaches, engaging with parents after each session to answer any questions.

    • Learn to Play Hockey: assist with check in, gear fitting, organize practice plan, lead coach, instruct on ice session with support coaches. After each session, be available to answer questions and interact with players.

    • Tournament Team Tryouts & Practices:  Assist with registration and jersey distribution, run on-ice tryout, draft players, organize practice prior to tournament weekend, be present for all tournament games – 1 hour prior and approximately 1 hour after.

    • Adult Clinics: Organize and implement on ice practice plan and communicate with support staff

    • Develop and deliver training programs for coach development.

    • Ensure students are engaged/having fun/learning during Rec-League Clinics/Practices

    • Be available/accessible to answer questions during other Hockey training

Personnel Management

  • Maintain ongoing manpower plan for coach and instructor staffing

  • Manage coach and instructor recruitment, training and scheduling for hockey programs, clinics and schools. 

  • Conduct coach’s clinics as outlined by nationally recognized programs.  Ensure that each instructor provides instruction. Aligned with the Rinks values and standards of service.

  • Attend Power Play meetings and assist with Rinks training and on-boarding program initiatives.

Finance and Payroll

  • Manage and process department payroll ensuring payroll levels are within pro forma guidelines.

  • Monitor budget and financial affairs of the department.

  • Oversee and ensure accurate record keeping and management of statistical and financial information of all programs.

  • Assist with operations budget including labor, marketing, & administrative costs, and projecting revenue.

Operations/Marketing & Promotions

  • Spend 15-20 hours each week in on-ice instruction of in-house programs, Learn to Play Hockey and clinics ensuring consistent skill development of coaches and students

  • Work with marketing team on development, design and layout of brochures, flyers, and advertising media.

Hockey Instructors are instrumental staff responsible upholding our Rinks standards while making the guests experience a great one.  Hockey Instructors should be dynamic and keep players engaged, organized, safe and ensure that the players have fun.

Hockey Instructors, Level 1 are responsible for assisting on & off the ice and teaching at skill development stations for all Hockey Development programs.

  • Able to communicate rink programming information to guests with a high degree of knowledge and accuracy when escalated by an Associate.

Maintenance and Safety

  •   Assist in Ice Maintenance as needed to maximize efficiency.  Operate the Zamboni and “edger”, requiring ability to walk on the ice.
  • Manage Associates who safeguard public sessions to assure exemplary Guest experience.  Ice Rinks:  Able to walk out onto the Ice surface to assist customers in emergencies.
  • Monitor ice and inline rink surface conditions; delegates Associates to remove debris from surface and surrounding areas.
  • Reports all maintenance requests to the General Manager in a timely manner.
  • Lift and move hockey nets (weight between 81 – 120 lbs)
  • Replace Rink glass and repair the rink system as needed (glass weight between 52 – 155 lbs)

Accounting and Finance

  • Responsible for distributing all cash drawers, deposits and safe monies to Associates.
  • Daily documentation of sales reports including, but not limited to, cover reports, flash sales summary reports, ice utilization reports, food and beverage reports, Marty reports, over/short reports, and deposit summary reports.
  • Required to complete daily audit reports to The Rinks accounting department and the facility’s General Manager.

Summary of Position

This position is responsible for assisting teaching skating skills in groups, support company or facility events, and promote The Rinks while embodying the company’s values and mission.

Responsibilities

  • Assist instruction of group classes in various formats including our Learn-to-Skate Program, Home School Program, community classes, facility and company sponsored events, figure skating camps, etc.

  • Follow the facility’s Learn-to-Skate curriculum (based on U.S. Figure Skating’s “Learn to Skate USA” model)  and agree to attend PowerPlay sessions if assisting Academy, LTS or other Group Classes.

  • Assist in the production and promotion of facility shows and competitions

  • Provide positive, constructive feedback when evaluating skaters

Summary of Position

This position is responsible for the implementation and management of hockey programming in a manner supportive of The Rinks culture and CommUNITY.   This position oversees all hockey staff including hockey coordinators, and coaches within facility.

Responsibilities

Program Administration

  • Organize and promote youth and adult hockey programs. This position will initially be based at Lakewood Ice overseeing Adult & Youth Leagues, Hockey Initiations and Learn to Play Hockey (the Hockey Manager may be required to work at other rink locations to meet business needs).

  •  Oversee/Manage program registration process and administration of all in-house game schedules.  Ensure these schedules coincide with the facility master ice schedule. 

  • Lead the Hockey Initiation program.  Assume primary responsibility for class scheduling, curriculum, and instructional coverage. 

  • On-Ice:

    • Hockey Initiation programs:  Responsible for preparing and implementing practice plan for each session, communicating plan to support coaches, engaging with parents after each session to answer any questions.

    • Learn to Play Hockey: assist with check in, gear fitting, organize practice plan, lead coach, instruct on ice session with support coaches. After each session, be available to answer questions and interact with players.

    • Tournament Team Tryouts & Practices:  Assist with registration and jersey distribution, run on-ice tryout, draft players, organize practice prior to tournament weekend, be present for all tournament games – 1 hour prior and approximately 1 hour after.

    • Adult Clinics: Organize and implement on ice practice plan and communicate with support staff

    • Develop and deliver training programs for coach development.

    • Ensure students are engaged/having fun/learning during Rec-League Clinics/Practices

    • Be available/accessible to answer questions during other Hockey training

Personnel Management

  • Maintain ongoing manpower plan for coach and instructor staffing

  • Manage coach and instructor recruitment, training and scheduling for hockey programs, clinics and schools. 

  • Conduct coach’s clinics as outlined by nationally recognized programs.  Ensure that each instructor provides instruction. Aligned with the Rinks values and standards of service.

  • Attend Power Play meetings and assist with Rinks training and on-boarding program initiatives.

Finance and Payroll

  • Manage and process department payroll ensuring payroll levels are within pro forma guidelines.

  • Monitor budget and financial affairs of the department.

  • Oversee and ensure accurate record keeping and management of statistical and financial information of all programs.

  • Assist with operations budget including labor, marketing, & administrative costs, and projecting revenue.

Operations/Marketing & Promotions

  • Spend 15-20 hours each week in on-ice instruction of in-house programs, Learn to Play Hockey and clinics ensuring consistent skill development of coaches and students

  • Work with marketing team on development, design and layout of brochures, flyers, and advertising media.

  • Work with the Marketing department on league/program development.

  • Work with marketing department to integrate new promotions (ex: Learn to Play Hockey) into on-going Hockey Programming (ex: Hockey Initiation).

Program Growth and Guest Experience

  • Ensure Guest experience is representative of The Rinks/Anaheim Ducks/San Diego Gulls name in programming quality and service.

  • Promote growth of the company through cooperative management of each facility.

Responsibilities

The Operations Associate will be assigned to one or more of the following skill areas:

Front Desk/Reception:

  • Communicate rink program information to Guests
