Summary of Position

The Operations Associate is responsible for performing the daily activities required to operate the Rink facility, including all aspects of customer service, cash handling, skate guard during public sessions.

Responsibilities

The Operations Associate will be assigned to one or more of the following skill areas:

Front Desk/Reception:

  • Communicate rink program information to Guests

  • Operate Point of Sale system in a skillful, expedient manner while efficiently and accurately performing daily cash handling activities

  • Coordinate locker room check-in and check-out procedures

  • Greet and assist Guests throughout the facility

  • Answer telephone in a cheerful, courteous and timely manner

Skate Counter:

  • Efficiently distribute skates and assist Guests in proper skate size selection

  • Manage customer flow including timeliness of service and line flow

  • Collect, inspect and properly store skates to correct location.

  • Sharpen/maintain rental skates for quality performance/presentation

Snack Bar:

  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of menu items, recipes and prices for the Snack Bar operation

  • Efficiently and accurately perform daily cash handling activities

  • Skillfully operate food and beverage equipment machines and prepares product in a proficient manner

  • Manage customer flow including timeliness of service and line flow

Skate Guard:

  • Safeguard public sessions to assure exemplary Guest experience and safety by monitoring activity on rink surfaces and in other controlled areas

  • Monitor rink conditions; remove debris from rink surface

  • Must be able to skate for up to 2 hours or willing to learn to skate

  • Maintain encouraging and attentive demeanor throughout session

  • Monitor safety of skaters including proper usage of skates and other equipment 

Scorekeeper:

  • Efficiently and accurately perform scorekeeping duties

  • Communicate effectively with referees in fast paced, dynamic environment

Party Host:

  • Set up and decorate party room prior to guest’s arrival

  • Set up appropriate facility signage

  • Maintain a positive and attentive demeanor throughout the party

  • Provide outstanding customer service throughout the event, ensuring that food is served on-time, assisting with skate size selection and timing of skate

All above areas are responsible for:

  • Providing excellent customer service by enthusiastically servicing Guests while performing a multitude of diverse tasks, being thorough, accurate and prompt when responding to Guest inquiries and when necessary directing the individual to the appropriate Associate

  • Demonstrating the initiative and commitment to communication and teamwork to assure optimal Guest Service

  • Adhering to First Aid and emergency guidelines and procedures

Summary of Position

The Housekeeping Associate is a position within the Operations Department of the Great Park Ice & Sports Complex.  This position is responsible for performing housekeeping duties as required and should be capable of responding to general facility cleaning and service requests.  The successful candidate must be able to work independently, as well as in a team dynamic.  This position reports directly to the Facilities Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing general housekeeping duties in offices, locker rooms, restrooms, showers, food service/concession areas, bleachers, elevators, corridors, stairways, player benches, and lobbies

  • Respond to calls for housekeeping including spills, broken glass in a timely fashion

  • Operate an assortment of driven and/or pushed cleaning equipment, floor scrubbers, and carpet extractors

  • Perform interior/exterior window cleaning as required

  • Adhere to all OSHA regulations by using the proper PPEs (personal protective equipment) and following facility safety standards

  • Spot sweep, vacuum, and keep all surfaces clear of debris

  • Restock and organize cleaning products, chemicals, and equipment to maximize efficiency

  • Assist with setting up for special events and meetings as needed

  • Participate in weekly/biweekly maintenance meetings and attend company Power Play training sessions

The Public Safety Officer reports directly to the Assistant Manager-Building Security. Responsible for building security for the Honda Center on event and non-event days.   

Responsibilities

  • Assist building employees and guests as necessary

  • Responsible for preparing reports for assistant Security Manager for approval.

  • Conduct security video camera surveillance and Control-100 operations.

  • Respond to fire alarms and work with Building Engineering.

  • Available to work all three shifts (Day, Swing, and Graveyard)

  • Conduct foot patrols, ensure all assigned areas are patrolled, and ensure a secure environment. Reports directly to the Assistant Security Manager-Building Security of all safety concerns.

  • Comply with all payroll policies and procedures.

  • Attend all annual training for assigned Security Officers.

  • Submits uniform orders and maintenance requests to Assistant Security Manager.

  • Assist with ramp/dock operation; control all vehicle/pedestrian traffic, deliveries, contractors, and coordinates with all departments for “outside” scheduled appointments.

Summary of Position

Runners assist in the overall operation of all Food & Beverage outlets.  This is a part-time, event-based position located within the Food and Beverage Department of the Great Park Ice and Sports Complex. Hours for this position fluctuate depending upon arena event schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests in a warm and welcoming manner

  • Expedite guest food orders in a timely manner at concession stands, portables and restaurant area’s

  • Stock product, set up set up condiment stations, cashier stations and display baskets

  • Assist in preparation of food items in all Food and Beverage areas

Summary of Position

The Bartender’s primary responsibility is to mix, serve, and/or pour alcoholic beverages based on guests’ orders.  Bartenders are responsible for serving drinks in accordance to established menu/recipe specifications and serving all guests responsibly by following responsible alcohol service guidelines.  This is a part-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to mix and serve traditional and established alcoholic beverage menu items.

  • Prepare and serve all alcohol beverages by precisely measuring pour volume in accordance to established alcohol service.

Summary of Position 

The culinary supervisor will support the operation of the kitchen by assisting the culinary management team and overseeing kitchen staff.  The culinary supervisor will be in charge of maintaining inventory pars and control ordering for designated areas of responsibility. The culinary supervisor will ensure that the leads, cooks and stewards are following the procedures and standards issued by the culinary and/ or F&B management team.  This position is also responsible for ensuring that exceptional hospitality, food quality and sanitation standards are maintained at all times.   • Review production schedules and assist the culinary management team with inventory and ordering.

The Training and Development Coordinator reports to the Training and Development Specialist, servicing The Rinks and other related Companies.  This position is responsible for coordinating training and development initiatives across the Rinks facilities. Hockey Instructors, Level 1 are responsible for assisting on & off the ice and teaching at skill development stations for all Hockey Development programs.

  • Hockey Instructors should be at the Rink at least 30 minutes before scheduled sessions and be ready to go onto the ice 15 minutes before players take the ice.

  • Meet with Head Hockey Coach/ Instructor prior to scheduled sessions to review on ice plan.

  • Interact with players and parents prior to taking the ice, be friendly.

  • Assist with ice set up, pucks, nets etc.

  • Stop and teach – set a standard for development by using positive reinforcement when coaching.
